The view from both sides

Hold the sample against your window and inspect it from outside where practical. Daytime screening depends on the difference between indoor and outdoor light.

A separate evening layer

When your lamps are on, a sheer alone may reveal the room. Pair it with a dimout or blackout night curtain on a compatible double track.

Pattern and folds

A small woven motif reads differently once gathered. Ask to see the sample folded at the proposed fullness.

Does a sheer provide privacy at night?

Not reliably by itself. Add a more opaque closing layer and assess it under your evening lighting.

Can sheers have double pleats?

Yes. Sheer describes the cloth and transparency; double pleat describes how the top is sewn.
